Telecom Asia Readers' Choice & Innovation Awards

Ciena took home three awards, winning the Analytics Innovation of the Year category for the second consecutive year for Blue Planet/Packet Design solution, while the 6500 Reconfigurable Line System won the Optical Network Innovation of the Year and 5170 Service Aggregation Switch nabbed the Fixed Broadband Innovation of the Year category.

CRN’s 2018 Partner Program Guide

For the fourth year in a row, Ciena’s BizConnect Partner Program was awarded a 5-Star rating. The CRN Partner Program Guide is the definitive listing of partner programs from technology vendors that provide products and services through the IT channel. To determine the 2018 5-Star ratings, The Channel 91ÌÒÉ«’s research team assessed each vendor’s partner program based on investments in program offerings, partner profitability, partner training, education and support, marketing programs and resources, sales support and communication.

2017 Telecom Asia’s Readers’ Choice & Innovation awards

At Telecom Asia’s 10th Readers’ Choice & Innovation awards, Ciena was honored with two awards: Blue Planet Manage, Control and Plan (MCP) received “SDN Innovation of the Year“ and Blue Planet Analytics (BPA) received “Analytics Innovation of the Year.” Telecom Asia narrowed down the nominations from readers for 21 categories to a shortlist of 90 entries, which represented 48 companies. Voters consisted of Telecom Asia’s subscriber base of service providers in Asia.

2017 BTR Diamond Technology Reviews

Ciena was recognized with two awards at the 2017 Diamond Technology Reviews for Waveserver Ai and our D-NFV Solution. The Diamond Technology Reviews identifies innovation in technology for the broadband cable industry, and rates each submission on a scale of 1 to 5 Diamonds based on the solution’s uniqueness, innovation, ease of use, efficiency, reliability and contribution to profitability.

This award acknowledges organizations that create better experiences through actionable insights to drive product innovation, customer devotion, employee engagement, and brand excellence.  With over 400 submissions this year Ciena was one of 21 companies to receive this honor.  Each entry was reviewed three times by a panel of industry experts who gave a composite score based on detail, quality and impact.

Ciena wins Vodafone Enterprise Supplier of the Year for Outstanding Delivery and Performance 2016

Vodafone’s Supplier Awards recognise outstanding performance in supporting its continuous drive for operating efficiency and delivering greater benefits to its Enterprise customers. On December 14th Ciena received the award for ‘Enterprise supplier of the year for outstanding delivery and quality performance’, the first enterprise award of its kind; highlighting the joint partnership, collaboration and combined expertise and technologies that harness Vodafone’s next-generation packet-optical network.

Global Telecoms Innovation Awards 2016

The Global Telecoms Business Telecoms Innovation & Technology Awards are presented for innovative projects by operators and vendors in the telecoms industry. Aqua Comms and Ciena were recognized for AEConnect, a high-capacity subsea system specifically designed for web-scale providers. Aqua Comms AEConnect is a new trans-Atlantic subsea cable system spanning more than 5,500 km from New York to the West Coast of Ireland to Dublin, London and into Europe.

2015 Fierce Innovation Awards: Telecom Edition

Ciena’s 5430 Packet-Optical Platform received the 2015 Fierce Innovation Award: Telecom Edition in the Wireline Core/Transport category. The 5430 makes hybrid packet OTN switching networks highly scalable, efficient and agile, paving the way toward virtualized, SDN-based architectures.  The award comes from the publishers of FierceWireless, FierceTelecom and FierceCable.

The Fierce Innovation Awards:  Energy Edition is an industry awards program from the publisher of Smart Grid News. Ciena’s 8700 Packetwave Platform, specifically designed to address the dynamic traffic patterns and scalability associated with smart grids running across metro networks, received top honors in the Smart Grid Managed Services category.

2014 Telecom Asia Readers Choice & Innovation Award

Ciena and KVH were voted combined winners in the 2014 Telecom Asia Reader’s Choice and Innovation Awards, a program that recognizes technology innovations and accomplishments among leading Asia Pacific telecom vendors. The Carrier Ethernet Project of the Year went to KVH’s etherXEN service, which employs Ciena’s Z-Series packet-optical technology and Blue Planet SDN platform to deliver SDN-based burstable Ethernet service.

Lightwave Innovation Award

Lightwave magazine recognized Ciena’s Blue Planet SDN Platform in the 2014 Lightwave Innovation Awards. A diverse group of independent judges rated Blue Planet with the second highest score overall (4.5 out of a possible 5 points) as an "Excellent product with technical features and performance that provide clear and substantial benefits". Blue Planet was the only SDN platform recognized in the competition.

Ciena's Blue Planet has won this year’s NetEvents Cloud Innovation Award for the best “NFV Solution for Carriers”. The award was presented today by Michael Howard, Co-Founder & Principal Analyst, Infonetics Research, on behalf of the award’s independent judging panel of leading IT industry gurus and senior figures from the international technology press and industry analyst organizations around the globe.

Ciena's Blue Planet SDN and NFV Orchestration Platform has won “SDN Innovation of the Year” in the 2013 Telecom Asia Readers’ Choice & Innovation Awards. Ciena's selection is based on Blue Planet’s market traction (over 100 deployments worldwide) and the platform’s ability to address multi-layer, multi-vendor WAN, data center, and NFV orchestration challenges for network operators.
